Sonaírí is an exciting classical duo, formed by Irish soprano Amie Dyer and tenor David Corr.

Both met while studying for their masters in music performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where their shared passion for beautiful music, humour, and artistic expression blossomed into the creation of this unique duo. Together, they bring an innovative blend of classical elegance, Celtic soul, and musical theatre to the stage.

Their diverse repertoire spans a wide range of genres, from timeless opera arias and powerful classical crossover pieces to the beauty of Irish folk songs. Whether performing Puccini’s "O Mio Babbino Caro" or “Nessun Dorma,” to the tunes of musical theatre favourites like "In the Street Where You Live" from My Fair Lady and "I Could Have Danced All Night," or the emotional anthem "You’ll Never Walk Alone" from Carousel, Sonaírí captivates their audience with each piece they perform.

They also explore classical crossover with stunning renditions of favourites like “Nella Fantasia" and "Pie Jesu," blending operatic vocals with contemporary flair. They perform beloved works like "The Merry Widow Waltz" and weave in beautiful Irish ballads such as "Danny Boy" and "Mo Ghille Mear", showcasing their rich heritage and love for traditional Irish music.

The Artistes

David Corr

David Corr is an Irish tenor, and multiple award winner. He is a masters graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and is known for his versatility across opera, oratorio, and Irish and English song. With a career spanning multiple prestigious stages, David has performed at the Grand Opera House in Belfast, National Opera House in Wexford, Dublin’s National Concert Hall, Wigmore Hall in London, and the Royal Overseas League’s Princess Alexandra Hall. He has performed at many opera festivals including the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival and Dorset Opera Festival. David’s career highlights include winning the Deborah Voigt Opera Prize and the Voice of Northern Ireland award, as well as a memorable masterclass with Dame Janet Baker. He was the recipient of Irish Heritage’s prestigious bursary, the Brackaville bursary for vocal studies.  David has played opera roles including the role of Joe in  the  World Premiere of Northern Ireland Opera’s commissioned work Nobody/Somebody and Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte in Berlin. He has performed in mainstage operas with Irish National Opera and Northern Ireland Opera  include performances in productions like Carmen, William Tell, La Bohème, Aida, and La Traviata.

David’s oratorio performances have included Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël, Haydn’s Creation, and Handel’s Messiah.

Amie Dyer

Amie Dyer is an Irish soprano celebrated for her expressive voice and dynamic stage presence. A graduate of the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Amie has performed extensively across Ireland and Europe. Notably she spent two memorable years at the Linz Opera House in Austria, where she honed her craft in opera.

Amie’s versatility spans a wide range of genres, from opera and sacred music to classical crossover and musical theatre. Amie has a deep appreciation for Irish folk songs. Her love for traditional Irish music has led her to include these treasured songs in her performances, infusing them with both her classical training and a connection to her heritage.

Amie has released a Christmas single Silent Night which is available on all major platforms. The Irish-language version is particularly special, adding a unique and personal touch to this beloved carol and highlighting her deep connection to her cultural roots.

Amie's musical journey began at a young age, and she has been an active member of the Drogheda Male Voice Choir since she was 16. This long-standing collaboration underscores her deep-rooted connections to her community and her dedication to choral music.
