A Privilege to premiere ‘The Mass of the Bells’

We are truly honoured to have performed as soloists for the premiere of Michael Holohan’s extraordinary new composition, The Mass of the Bells, as part of the live RTÉ/Kairos broadcast from St. Peter’s Church, Drogheda. Performing this deeply moving work alongside so many wonderful musicians and community ensembles was a moment we will never forget.

The response has been overwhelming: over 50,000 people have already watched the broadcast across RTÉ One, RTÉ One +1 and the RTÉ Player. To know that this music touched audiences on such a scale is incredibly special for us.

Our heartfelt thanks to Michael Holohan, whose vision, creativity and generosity made this project possible. It was a privilege to play a part in bringing his music to life, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with him.

For Sonaírí, this premiere was more than a performance , it was a celebration of Irish creativity and community. We are proud and humbled to have been part of it.
